Hi! I'm Maureen (or Mo, as my husband and friends often call me) and I'm excited to be contributing to this blog. I'm a professional librarian who worked as a children's librarian in public libraries for almost 5 years. Recently I moved to an evening job at a university library so I could be home with my almost 19 month old daughter during the day - and I find I miss sharing great books and book-related activities with kids and their families.
So I'll be here, bringing a librarian and mommy of a toddler perspective. I hope to share some of my favorite books, some of my daughter's favorite books, and some books and activities that have been favorites at storytimes and other library events I've done in the past.
Also, part of being a children's librarian is helping kids and parents find books that they can get excited about. If you have a reluctant reader in your house, or a child who wants a book on a certain topic or theme, I'm happy to help! I love questions like that!
(Also, I apologize for my eyes being almost closed in this picture. I wanted one of the whole family and the last one we had before this one, which was taken on Easter, was from Christmas.)

Yay! I'm I love your intro. I hope that parents will eventually realize what an asset they by asking for your help. I can't wait to see what all you have to offer.
I just wanted to offer up that I have a book list of Favorite Books for Reluctant Boy Readers as well as list of favorite Baseball Chapter Books at http://pragmaticmom.com. Hope this helps a reluctant reader find joy in reading.
